What wattage for a 50 gallon should I get?

To be honest there are so many variables involved for the correct temp for a cage (temp of room, is it an open cage (non glass), etc). The only accurate way to test, is to use a temperature guage (digital or otherwise). Waltmart sells one dirt cheap for 10. Just make sure the basking area is between 100-110 and the cool spot at least 80-85 (as long not lower than 70 you are ok).

Cage is glass with sliding screen top, average room temp is about 70 degrees, I figure about 100 watt?

Also for night time im going to be using a 50 watt night bulb incase he still wants to be warm. The 100 Watt UVA UVB should keep the other side between 80-85 right?
