Here is what we bought Iggi. It is an angel bear. It's soft and pink, like her pink starfish she sleeps with.

I bought stuff to double the size of the enclosure, but I wasn't able to actually work on it until today. There will be shelves, ramps, climbing pole, a big swimming pond in the bottom, and more fake plants. I am also adding another uvb light, another night heat light, and another heat light.
Wow, sounds like it will be an awesome set-up! Please post some pics of it when you're done.

Here are some pics of work in progress. I still have to get reptile carpet to cover all of the bare wood. I ran out of rope to wrap around the long ramp so I had to spread it out. I might wrap it all the way like the others, but it is working for now. When I built it a while ago the bottom was just for storage. I cut out the upper floor and now it's one decent size enclosure. It could stand to be bigger, but for now until I am able to build a fullsize enclosure it should be ok.

How do I get the pictures smaller? They are way too big. Here is a pic. of the bottom with the lights.

Here is one of the left side of the upper part where I cut out the floor.

Here is Ed in the new pond. There are plants all over in the inside now, but I don't have pics yet. I hope to finish it by tomarrow.

here is a pic of the lower section with plants.I am adding the reptile carpet today and a few other things.

Another picture of enclosure. It is of the lower basking spot.

looking from upper door to left side.

looking down from upper door to right side.

Here is what it looks like on the outside. It's not fancy at all. The upper section is the same inside as it was except with most of the floor cut out. It has branches and a couple platforms. The lower section has shelves and ramps. Oh, and a pool. They haven't ventured into the bottom on their own yet, but I guess it will take them some time. I'll post more pictures when I finish it. If you have any ideas or any critisism feel free to post. I am still open for ideas or suggestions. Thanks.

How big are your iguanas?
Is the plastic coated wire strong enough for adults not to injure themselves? That is my main biff with the open type. Humidity isn't much of a problem for me (I live in Houston
)
Thanks. Sam is 2 years old and over 3ft. He would be longer, but he has had his tail cut off before. Ed(Ella) is almost 1 year old and 25" long. I think the coated wire mesh should work. I have just regular screen on this enclosure. It is hard to keep humidity in with a screen cage. I live in Florida which is real humid. I moved here from Houston in 2000. Where in Houston are you from?

I live near Bellaire...
I just read a bit and people say their iguana lost a toe/nail to the regular mesh.
Also I would move that light fixture, I could see them burning themselves on it jumping down
Hmmm, which one? Is it on the lower section or upper?
The ones with the perch right about them
When I built the enclosure at first I had the lights in there with nothing to climb to them. They would climb the screen and sit right on the lamp shield(silver part). They would not stay off it so I built a small platform on both upper lights with screen over it like a hammock. For some reason they love sitting up there on either side. I had a basking spot ud=nder both lights, but they still preffer on top. They aren't getting burned though. I was worried about that at first, but the platform helps prevent that. I'm not sure if it is hotter or cooler up there or if they just feel more comfortable up there. I was going to change it, but they just like it so much I decided to leave it for now. I don't want to change too much stuff on them at one time. I did that a few weeks ago and they acted weird for about 2 weeks. Not eating, hiding, but they got used to the changes.
I lived in the Pasadena area. My parents live in S.Houston and my aunt lives in Bellaire. It's a small world. I had a problem with my little iguana had lost her mails because of it. They have now grown back, and she doesn't have a problem with it anymore. I just need to keep their nails trimmed all the time to keep them from climbing it. I will be building a really nice super large enclosure with plexiglass and all the good stuff. Right noe I can't because I had surgery on my wrist and I was barely able to do this addition. They were out growing the top half though, and I couldn't put it off anymore.
Won't they try to eat those plants? (I am assuming they are fake)
They lick them to see what they are, but they don't try to eat them. I wondered about that before I got them, but I saw a lot of people had them. I made sure that the leaves didn't pull off easy when I bought them.
My husband and I made a chocolate fondu with some blackberries and oranges. The igs got to have some blackberries hand-fed to them, but without the chocolate.
Julie, Justin and the green kids
Our little iggy got to try some slices of banana...she definetly enjoyed the treat.
