I sold my 2 redtails today and they probed them to find the sex and the female i thought i had was a male so they said cause the probe went so far in.Is that true if the probe goes in real far that it is a male? Thanks Steve

it is true. when you probe a male you are inserting the probe into one of the inverted hemipenes. female boas generally probe to a depth of 2-5 subcaudal scales...males can can be probed around 8-12.

take care, chris olson
