OMG!!HELP!!!

DragonGirly Feb 14, 2004 09:49 PM

I can't believe I did this!! I fed my husband's gecko's and I left the top off one of the cages all night! I got up this morning and walked in the rep room and just screamed! My cats got in the gecko's cage! The cage was torn up and the gecko was standing there with his FAT tail!

She dropped her tail and I dont see any other wounds! What do I do?

I took everything out of the cage, she has a moss cave,Carpet on one side and a little sand on the other side.I put in a paper towel and a paper towel roll and a shallow bowl of water. I have some cream I had from the vet for cuts, scraps etc that she gave me for a resuce izzy, so I put that on her stump.

My husband is out of town and I havent talked to him yet.

HELP!

Thank you! Right now she is very active, which kinds of concerns me.usually she's not but then again her home is all differnet and she loves her moss cage and now its gone. But I dont want the moss touching her open wound.

I'll check back later to see if I got more advice

Make sure you keep a bowl of gutloaded meal worms around at all times as well, as she's lost an important source of energy/fat. Good luck! Here's a pic of my girl Ginger, who lost her tail at the pet shop. If she can grow it back fat & healthy at a pet shop, your gecko will do FINE.

that would irritate an open wound as well.
Gotta keep that nice and dry/clean to get the best looking regrown tail
good luck!
