Maintenance of Ackies on Dirt

NCJay Feb 14, 2004 10:15 PM

For those who keep their ackies (or other smallish monitors) on an all-dirt substrate, what is your maintenance routine for keeping a clean cage? Do you just remove/replace the top few inches of substrate, or is a complete change required? Is there any pattern to where Ackies tend to relieve themselves, or do they just "let-fly" wherever the mood strikes? Also, does anyone have a "recipe" to create a good dirt substrate from the items available at Home Depot or similar stores? Thanks for the input. Jay
