Baby allys in big tank

Dinobot711 Feb 14, 2004 11:08 PM

Hey everyone, haven't been on here in a while. I've downsized my collection a little bit, was useing up to much money and time on everything and i'd rather be able to concentrate my time more on each animal rather than have to spread it across so many. I still have quite a bit -1 Common Snapper (Bowser) in 150 stock tank for winter and 300 in summer, 2 Ally snappers 20 long right now..., 1 argentine boa in 125, 1 albino cal king in 20, 1 black rat snake in 20 long, 1 savanah monitor 6 foot cage and building another soon, 1 columbian tegu 5 foot cage, 1 rosehair tarantula in a 10, Lobster roaches in a 20 long right now but going in 55 in a couple days, hissing roaches in a 20 but going in a 75, giant cave roaches in 29 going in 65, giant millipedes goin with hissers, 1 APBT, 1 cat, 2 silkie hens, and goin to setup 29 saltwater. And thats after downsizing lol. Still alot of work, especially moving all these big tanks around. Through doing all this I end up with a 125 gallon not doing anything. I'd like to use it for the babys. What do you think? I have a good sized ehiem 2217 canister that is rated for up to 150 gallon tanks and a couple small internal filters i would use. I have gravel on the bottum already, got plenty of wood to put in it and live anachris that spreads like crazy. I have rocks and caves I could put in. I'd put alot of small fish in it like guppies, danios, neons, etc, I think the fish would do fine with the good filtration and the turtles could pick off what they can get, if you guys have any suggestions on the types of fish to get. I have a stand, glass top, and 4 bulb light bar, submersible heater. I think it would look awesome the way i wanna set it up but i'd like to see what everyones opinion is first. If you guys have any suggestions too i'd appreciate it, like water depth and types of fish. Thanks

Man I wish I had all those tanks. I am to tight with my money to buy them. I just use the cheap methods. Plastic boxes, etc. as for what i think, i would. I have been thinking of doing the same thing. I only have one 55 gallon tank thoug (well I have 10 gallons but i'm talking big).

Dino,
If you do use the 125 for the babies, give them plenty of hiding places...I mean lots of them... Lots of open space can be stressful for a lil snapper... And expect not to see them too much with that big of a tank, they tend to hide alot when they can, unless food is around
