Incubating for males?

ragnew Jun 08, 2003 10:04 PM

Gotta question to ask. I'm incubating 4 eggs (2 hypo pastel and 2 tang albinos) in the hopes of producing males. The lowest the incubater gets is 88 degrees and 90 is the hottest it gets. What are the chances of these four hatchlings not making it? I think the eggs are looking really good and dont see a problem with it so far. I'd go ahead and turn the temp down in about 7 days, but I'm also trying to get some bright colored albinos and pastels (hopefully) that have very, very reduced spotting. Would it be recommended to turn down the temp at all? Or should my eggs be okay as long as it doesn't get any hotter then 90? Thanks, and I do appreciate all the help I've gotten.

Thanks
Richie

you should be fine as long as 90 is the highest. I would not turn it down now. 88 to 90 should produce some nice males.

Great, never tried for males, so I was kinda worried that something bad may happen. I decided I wanted a couple of males, that were actually produced here at home. Then use them next year. Thanks alot.
