There has been a group of people that have got together and one in particualr created a petition to be signed. This is for anyone who ships reptiles and/or amphibians via FedEx, Airborne, or UPS.
Our goal is to try and get the shipping community to recognize 'us' as a valid industry and for any or all of the above mentioned companies to allow us to ship or 'product' just like any other industry.
THis is for the better of the herp community as a whole. Please go to the below link, read it, and if you feel compelled to, please sign it.
Thank you and let's all join together in this!

I recently spoke with someone at I believe it was Fed-Ex about shipping a reptile and the reason they don't is that they cannot guarantee the temperature of the cargo hold they are shipping them in. Many airlines will refuse to ship dogs at certain times of the year as it is too cold and the animals are at risk. I would love it if it were easier to ship herps but, I think that right now the companies don't feel there is a need to heat the cargo holds and the cost to the end customers would be huge.
