Homosexual boas?

Joe R. Feb 09, 2003 04:57 PM

I have a pair of Colombians that didn't seem too interested in each other so I got an extra male to try that avenue. Now my female is on one side of the cage looking kind of fat, I hope she's not ovulating yet, and the two males are acting rather, well, gay. I hope this doesn't offend anyone. It seriously is not meant too. I've seen dominancy displays before; this isn't it. I'm positive of the sex of all three animals. I remember when Fred's male Argentine did the same to his male Colombian a couple years ago. Must be something in the air. Very strange. Just wanted to see if anyone else noticed this behavior. If you reply please keep it tastefull and do not say anything that will offend anyone.
Thanks

I even had a male Hog Isle try to court my leg! If I was you............. I'd probe em. If ya do & turns out to be different, let me know

I had a real dominant male that would breed anything you put in his cage. He constantly tried to breed other males. He actually dominated larger males and would try to breed them NON-STOP. He was a maniac...So I guess it does happen. And mine were all sexed correctly.

I've seen it as well this year. I was playing musical cages this year and temporarily housed two of my adult males together (both of which I'd used to breed females). My oldest male proceeded to 'court' the other male. Needless to say, the second guy wasn't too happy and I had to move everyone around again.

This happened to me. My boas 'breed' for 3 straight months and both ended up being males.... very depressing.
