Howdy all. I thought I'd share a couple of pics of an exciting project for next year. The female (early '02)is about 1000 grams, and should be ready to breed next winter. The male ('03) shows almost identical coloration and pattern, and has a really neat broken stripe behind his eye. Both snakes have the clean/clear white belly with yellow sides. I really expect this trait to be inheritable. It may not be a simple recessive type of deal, possibly polygenic or otherwise inheritable. At the very least, I hope they produce offspring similar to themselves. I am hopeful that I may produce a "super-reduced" snake similar to the one owned by Calmon Reptiles. The female is the first picture, the male is the second and third. Let me know what you think about the animals and the prospects for the offspring.
