Are temp guns safe for reptiles when used occaisionally?

I am thinking of getting one but I am slightly concerned about their safety.

I used it a lot with my reptiles, I do not see why is not going to be save, just do not point the laser directly to their eyes, but if you point the laser to any part of the boby should not be any problem, it is great to measure the temp really fast in their racks and be sure the temp gradient is correct
