How many to a cage

idreammylifeaway Feb 15, 2004 03:01 PM

I have a 5 month old female veiled chameleon in a 100 gallon screen mesh cage. I was wondering if it was okay to get another young (month old) female in her cage. First off, can 2 female veileds even live together in that amount of space? And would I have to seperate the newer younger one until she got bigger before putting her in with my older chameleon? thanks so much ^.^

You only want to house 1 Chameleon in a cage. You can house the youngsters together only until about 3 months of their lifes. Most chameleons become extremly stressed with another one of its kind in the cage.

Cham_Man is correct. One to a cage. The little one would be in grave damger from the older one and if she survived that long, the constant tress of group housing would almost certainly resuly in reproductive proble,s and an early demise.
