My first Clutch!

balldude Feb 15, 2004 03:40 PM

Well I never saw ovulation and her prelay shed was only 7 days ago and this is what i found this morning. Unoffical count is 8, i havent moved her but i can tell they are all fertile, kindof worried about that top egg though, any thoughts? Thanks for looking, Brian.

Im dying to get some eggs, hey can I have one of those eggs for my incubator? (sniff) (sniff)

Goodluck with them all, please post hatching pics when the time comes..

This is my first clutch and i have at times thought " man im never going to get eggs" and these came at a time when i was most doubtful. Also this clutch included two years straight of being with 3 different males a 50 something copulations, so just keep going at, keep your head high and maybe youll be shocked one morning as well, Take care, Brian.

Hey. I know that thing looks funky, but I bet its good. Candle it when you can, if its got veins, cook it. The "nipple" deformity is common and the eggs are usually fine. I've hd much worse hatch. My rule of thumb...incubate unless and until it turns technicolor and stinks like H-E- double hockey sticks. Good luck!

Hey, Brian. Just had to say... IT'S A GREAT FEELING, ISN'T IT!!!!

and the mother is wondering why i cant stop looking at her! At least she is a good sport and let me candle the one weird egg, which is fertile, once again thanks, Brian.

Good luck, Christy

This just shows you though, that you can't always rely on the snake to tell you when the eggs are coming, some like to keep it a secret( I think she was waiting on me to put her in a laying setup), she started making a nest as soon as i put her in there. Really awesome to see all the instinctive behavior at work. Take care guys, Brian.

Hey, that's wonderful! I hope your first clutch rewards you with 100 per cent success. All the eggs I can see look great, including the "funny" one on top. Those normally do just as well as the fully calcified ones.
