That is Azul, my 5 year old Cyclura lewisi/Caymanensis hybrid. He's not at all black in color altho his feet are black and he has some slight black banding. He's mostly shades of gray, grayish blue and blue. The blue color should increase and intensify as he gets older, hense the name Grand Cayman Blue Iguana. The Cyclura lewisi are the most critically endangered reptile species in the world right now...last survey showed less than 20 adult specimens left in their natural habitat. You can read more about this species at www.Cyclura.com. Awesome website!!

You can find these available in the pet trade. You want to look for Cyclura hybrids or lewisi hybrids. David Blair breeds them as well as Bob Ehrig and a couple of others. They vary alot in appearance depending on the geneology and percentage of lewisi in the blood lines. My female looks quite different than Azul and has much more black coloration. Here is a photo of the 2 of them together. I apologize for the poor quality of the photo but you can get an idea of the difference in appearance.
