ok i need some help chosing an iguana...

i never realized there were so many different types of iguanas until i saw a black one and decided to research what they were...

im looking for an iguana that spends a lot of time in a tree because the tank i am building is going to be a vertical. i also want either black or yellow as the primary color. it also must be a species that has a decent temperment

The green iguana is the most known about, and is aboreal and they seem to have a variety of temperments, but it depends on handelling, they turn orange during breeding season... Green Iguanas from different areas of the world vary also.

Looking through the pictures in the dummies book the spiny iguana is a blackish iguana, there isn't alot of info on them in the book but it says they share a habitat so that would probably indicate arboreal.

Oh and FYI there are forums for other iguana species... This forum is primarily about Iguana Iguana (green iguana) try the chuckwalla and the Cyclura & Ctenosaura forums... These are the types of iguanas you are really going to have the chance at getting anyways, as the others are mostly endangered and I believe at least one is extinct
