Green Bush Viper--Hard feeding

hammer Feb 15, 2004 07:56 PM

I'm new to this site so please bear with me if I'm in the wrong area or if this question has been asked a million times.

I have two green bush vipers, male and female, about 10 and 14 inches respectively. I got them three weeks ago and know that they were WC. They haven't eaten since I got them and I've tried all the "tricks" that were supposed to work, like tapping tail with a fuzzy, ect. I've offered them pinkies, fuzzies and have tried to get them to strike, but they refuse. What should I do if anything, and when should I be concerned? Oh, I live in Michigan, so the temps are cold, but I keep the enclosure at around 80.

Thanks....

You'll probably want to try asking in the venomous forum but... internal parasites might be a factor here, as well as dehyrdation from being imported.

"The serpent crams itself with animal life that is often warm and vibrant, to prolong an existence in which we detect no joy and no emotion. It reveals the depth to which evolution can sink when it takes the downward path and strips animals to the irreducible minimum able to perpetuate a predatory life in its naked horror."
