BLACK spot

eternal Feb 15, 2004 09:38 PM

My 1 yr old beardie has a black spot on his scale on his chin. it looks like the color when his beard is black but just on a little spot. Could this be just damaged scales?
everything else is fine (eating , activity,etc..) can someone help me?
thanks

Could be a mite or tick, but unless it gets bigger I'd say it's nothing to worry about.

If you think its a mite just rub cooking oil on it and the mite will suffocate.

Mine has the same thing. Just one black scale on his chin, he's always had it. My vet has never said anything about it, and it's never changed, so I figure it's harmless.

I know for a fact mine is just a discolored scale, I should say to look closely and make sure it's just a scale and not a parasite. If it's a parasite follow Dedalus's advice.
