Eggs at Pet Store

angelawina Jun 09, 2003 12:53 AM

Hello All! I am the reptile person at a pet store. I have about 20 green anoles, and they are laying eggs! How can I tell if they are fertilized, and if they are fertilized, and how do I remove them if they are fertilized. I plan on taking them home and putting them in a tupperware container, putting damp sand in the bottom, putting a thermometer in it, and putting a heat lamp on it. Somewhere between 80 and 86 degrees. Does anyone have any tips??

Unless your house is real cold you won't have to use a heat lamp on the eggs. They will hatch quite well at standard room temperature. Actually, anole eggs are fairly hardy. Just be careful not to make the hatching medium too moist. The eggs should hatch in 40-50 days.
Good Luck and have a Great Day!!!
