what in the world is a tangerine pastel boa>>>>more

bigdee Feb 16, 2004 06:35 PM

I just went to classifieds and see what was called a tangerine pastel, I thought I only heard of tangerine with leopard geckos. Is this truly some other morph? Is it ok for people to have a boa with a little color and make up names for them. How does it go when it comes to naming a morph and it being exepted in the reptile trade, does it have to be proven some way or something? Im asking this because im starting to see alot of diff. names for so called morphs and when I see pics they look like boas I had really nice colored BCI's

I just now checked and there is no picture. That's one of my biggest pet peeves......classified ads with no pics. You have to email for pics. What's up with that, anyway??? Why not just put the pic there in the first place?? Then, we could all enjoy the supreme loveliness of the Orange-Tangerine Pastel with just one click.

I saw the original post about a week back.

Now people will call their animals what they will - and I believe to some extent they have the right to.
I inquired about them and I believe I was told they were bred 4 generations straight for being clean and having lots of color, a 'tangerine' orange color.. so I was interested and asked for pics.

Some people do this and are just not known - so she could have some AMAZING babies... then on another note, they can be commons being over-exagerated, right?

So i wait for the pics - when I asked for them, the prices were $250 and $275 each.
I get the pics posted and can't see any color or make out anything special. I ask for better pics.

At this point, the seller turns around and starts saying how the price should be higher and they are now posted for $350, then $450 each, then if they don't sell immediately, she will post them on her site for $500 each !!!

Now again, even though the price doubled on me, I still can't doubt the animal because i've never seen a clear pic yet!

I get another msg saying that if I want them, I can have them for $7xx.xx the pair because I was the first to respond, as if doing me a favor, again, STILL, with no pics!

I said thanks - i'll pass.

Moral of the story - I STILL don't know what these things look like! I COULD'VE paid MORE if I actually saw them and thought they were worth it, but with NO PICS, I won't pay the price of commons!

I'm not wasting any more time with those..
I still can't say they are not what she says, but they were not proven otherwise so I won't be spending $1 on them..

amazing what a little pic could do!

take care - Joe
