Leo and tail growth?

MY leo just dropped his tail! Waht do i have to do. he has a tankmate. Do i have to quarintine him or put medicin on him? Thanks

Leos don't drop their tails for no reason. If it happened in the tank, most likely your leos were fighting and if that's the case, it's best to house them seperately.

If it happened by accident, if he were dropped for example, you can continue to house them together.

The tail will grow back and be ok and the gecko will keep it clean. Just watch for signs of infection, or put a drop of neosporin on it now as a precaution.

Also, if you use fine bedding of some sort, you may want to switch to paper towels to prevent the fibers (or whatever) from getting caught in the open wound.

I have repti cage carpet.

Also... Can i still swich tanks (From 10 to 20L) Or should i wait.

Without a tail, the leo lost valuable energy storage. If you move the leo, it may stop eating for a few days to a week...and depending on body fat right now, that may be a bad thing. It would be easier on her if you waited until her tail grew back (at least partically) before you do any dramatic rearranging.

However, if your leo is the type that will eat anywhere, any time, go ahead and move her.
