I was wondering if this will put out a significant amount of uv (im not sure if its uva or uvb that needs to be put out of a flourescent light.
I am asking because I have found a hood that comes with a esu super uv bulb.

it is UVB that you are looking for. I just got an ESU with the 7% bulb for one of my anole. It will only be for about a month so it should be OK, but for longterm lighting Zoomed's repti-sun 5.0 is what is recommended. reptiledepot.com is selling them for $16 - can'r beat that!

I'm kind of partial to ESU lighting products myself. The Super UV is superior to ZooMed's 5.0 in its UVB output and the new compacts that ESU offers are far less expensive and last twice as long as the competitor's product. I'll vote ESU over Zoomed hands down every time.
