Soon to be Daddy....

Yasser Feb 16, 2004 10:25 PM

This is a 3rd generation CB Irian Jaya that was hatched in 2000 named Herman. If all goes well, he will be the father of two clutches this season. This was his first year to try to breed and he was a very busy bee! He bred three different females all winter but one of them didn't ovulate (the female that didn't lay last year).
The females he did get pregnant were two very different animals. One is an F1 animal, entirely unrelated. The other female is his sister from his own clutch. We are very excited to see what may hatch from the breeding to his sister. Something exciting may just pop up or at worst, possibly just improve the "potency" of this bloodline. I know some folks have very different opinions of line breeding or inbreeding but doing so for one, maybe two generations has never hurt in my experiences. Anyway.....hope ya like the soon-to-be daddy!

He is good looking! How much does he weigh? In fact, what are the weights needed for male and female IJ's for breeding. I don't think I have ever come accross that info. I think I have for jungles, but never IJ's.

Thanks,
Ben

Yasser,

Looking good. Which of your females did he breed with? Let me know when I can reserve a female. I will send you the money early to reserve one.

Matt

This is his sister post-ovulation.
She is a bit darker than she usually is as she is gravid.

But sorry, we don't take reserves on babies. We are just doing a contact list for when we do begin to start selling some babies. And don't worry, you are on it the last time I checked!

I think that guy might be better than the Poster Child. I'd love to see a comparison pic of both of those males together.

This pic shows both of the males (PC and Herman) bodies but not both of their heads! LOL!
I think they are both gorgeous but they seem as if they were made from a palette (sp?) of colors unique to each of them.
