HELP WITH CHONDRO PROBLEM!!!!!

I have a 2 year old Chondro, and I don't handle it much at all. I noticed this morning that it had a cut on the skin, when I picked it up the skin just came off and all that is left is raw skin.. What could be the problem? I keep it in a cage by itself the temp are according to it's needs and I also am providing the proper moisture. PLEASE ADVISE!!!!!
