brumation period

reuben Feb 17, 2004 08:35 AM

What's a minimal brumation period? Is a month enough or should I go two or three? My snakes seem to be moving about already. Plus I started to winterize late and am eager to start breeding them.

As far as other snakes go, I'm not sure, but I think it's 2-3 months.

But cornsnakes don't NEED to be brumated to mate and have fertile eggs, so you could take them out any time now and they should be okay. Saying that, the shortest brumation I've ever heard anyone doing was a month long.
