Looking for desert iguanas (Dipsosaurus dorsalis)...

biochic Feb 17, 2004 09:10 AM

I'm looking for desert iguanas to set up a breeding colony but I'm having trouble finding breeders. Does anyone breed or know someone that does? Any info is appreciated.

Wild caught ones can be purchased from Desert Reptiles in Nevada in a month or 2. I hope to have a clutch or more this year. It will be August at the best before I expect to see babies here. Do as much research as possible & try to get as large a set up as you can. All the info is here on this forum - or in the archives of the old forums. Hang around & ask questions!!

Thanks for the info...is this place online (Nevada)? We've done a lot of research already and were kind of hoping we'd find some sooner, but hey, we'll wait as long as we need to. Thanks for the info!

I got 3 DIs in the fridge brumating . I'll awaken them when my Collareds want to go down a few months from now. They usaully lay after that and if they hatch I need time to sex them before I get rid of them. I promised a female to Dave and I want another female or 2.
so we are talking at least a year from now for Captive born and sexed.

If your interested then. Check back at this forum
