Tegu Taining?

drykilllogic83 Feb 17, 2004 12:40 PM

I have a small red tegu female that I am trying to tame. I know in order to tame a tegu that you must hold them as much as you can. I have been doing this but she is not calming down. She is not mean or any thing like that, but she is untrusting. When I try to touch her she runs away from me. Has anybody found a way to train their tegu to calm down? Thanks.

my little guy was at first skittish, and then incredibly bitey! I thought he'd never stop biting my hands. so i fed him more, and now after having him about 5 months he is already a near perfect pet. The answer to your question? PATIENCE PATIENCE PATIENCE (and consistency of handling)

I say feed him until he cant move. Ive had mine for about 2 months now, and he is so fat and lazy, he wouldnt care who touched him, unless it was a mouse.

Seriously, those pics with the dog and the tegu crack me up. I love it.
