Just thought I would share a comparison pic of my black rats sheds.......

Hotshot Feb 17, 2004 03:49 PM

This is from my KY locale black rat snake that was W/C in Bullitt county in Aug 01. He was maybe 10" - 12" when caught and had his first shed a week later. He was 54" in Dec '03, and still growing. Havent measured him in a couple of months, but he is getting heavier now.

The little one is his first shed from Aug '01. The big one is from this month, Feb '04.

I keep all the sheds from my snakes and label them with the date and the shed #. I like to keep track of as much info and stats as I can on my snakes.

I dont know if anyone else does this or not. But I find it interesting to see how they grow and change colors. Even the sheds are different colors.

Good luck and Happy Herping
Brian
