no growth or shedding!!

Slaytallica Feb 17, 2004 04:53 PM

Ok my beardie is about.. i think 4 months old and hes only about 5 inches long. He hasn't grown an inch for 2 months or shed. Hes in a id say.. 30-40 gallon tank? and has a 160 watt zoomed at the exact elevation for the right heat. He gets a spraying once a day and eats like a crazy mofo. Anyone know why hes never shed nor grown?

I ahve a rather small beardie too, mine is about 6 months old and is only 7.5 inches nose to tail. 3-4inches nose to start of tail. from My personal opinion is that your beardy is fine, and they are probally going to have a growth spert soon, as long as there eating well. try to give him more of a variety of food..... greens, crikets, pelets, and when he does grow, try to give him meal or waxworms. good luck! O ya, and make sure you have a UBA/UBA bulb and make sure they get lots of calcium, and good amounts of protien. Guts your crickets. ~ sarah ~

"eats like a crazy mofo"? LOL

For instance, how many feedings/day, how many crickets per feeding, greens available, enclosure temps, lighting type (do you include something for UVB), suppliments (calcium dust, Herptivite or other multi suppliment, D3), etc.

Also, has he been vet checked for parasites, coccidia, etc.?

Also have to ask how his poop looks... sort of sausage-y like, or a shapeless pile? Sorta stinky, or *REALLY* stinky?
