I need to know if I need to take Ra to a vet or not. It's been over 2 weeks now, this is serious. I don't have very much, financially speaking, so it's crucial for me to know at what point do I have to spend the money to see a vet. If there's some home remedies I can use, I'd like to hear them and try them out before calling in the big guns (ie. vet). Please help, he is not getting any better and I'm getting very worried.

I'm anything but a vet, but here's my two cents. If he's eating, but not pooping, there could be a problem. If he's only eating a little bit and not pooping, it could be a problem, but maybe not so much. Definitely try the hot soaks (hot, but not burning) in a 1/2" or so of water for about 15 minutes. This worked once with Arthur when I first got her - big fart bubbles and all, quite comical. Even if he doesn't go, it might hydrate him some to get the ol' digestive tract rolling. Maybe add a teeny bit of supplemental heat, too (I keep hearing that sick uros need a little more warmth). Keep checking for any lumps in the tummy. And if all else fails, go to the vet. Maybe they will be nice and let you do a payment plan or something. (My vet isn't nice).
