What is a het and a bell het

What the heck is a Het? Also what is a bell het and why is it called bell?

het is short for heterozygous which means the animal does not display the specified trait but carries the genes for it. Bell is an albino strain I believe named after the person who discovered it. When you see het bell it means the gecko is normal but carries the bell albino genes.
