lighting issue for blue tongues

johnd. Feb 17, 2004 06:43 PM

I have previously used vita-lights for my Northern b.t.s. I am renewing these lights and can no longer get vita-lights, so I am going with either Repti-glo or Zoomed, and trying to decide on UVB output. I have one 18" flourescent fixture per enclosure about 10" - 11" from substrate. Daylight hrs. = 14. Would an 8% UVB output be too much in this situation? Will appreciate opinions / input. Thanks!

Veronica at Beautifuldragons.com has been testing UVB bulbs and the two best bulbs are the MVB bulbs (Powersun or T-Rex) and the ReptiSun 5.0. The Reptiglo did not fair very well in her test. Just my two cents.

ESU compact super UV 7%. Cheaper than the others and rated for 1 full year!
