I use nothing for heat. The lights on top and the humidity keep temperature where it should be in all of my vivs anyway, and some of my vivs are in rooms that get cool (as low as mid 60s at night). Remember, the warmth from the lights, lack of ventilation, and all that moisture in the air acts like a little greenhouse. Unless you have a large viv in a cool room, you shouldn't need to heat it from my experiences.
As for the soil... I would have a little more than peat moss. Here is the soil mixture I am using in my vivs...
2 parts coco-husk fiber
2 parts peat
1 part crushed leaf litter
1 part milled sphagnum moss fibers
1/2 part play sand
Otherwise, sounds good
Good luck
