The pic is a bit blurry, but I am almost positive it is a male.
Very blurry pic, but if the animal is older than 15 months, its 100% female-I guarantee!
I just spent ages writing a long message then pressed the wrong button and cleared it!
Here was my situation:
I have three females:
1. 2yrs old large calcium sacs, laid eggs, lives with male, hardly a line at all
2. Also 2yrs old, not laid eggs, extremely similar looking to yours
3. 14months old sub-adult female (from breeder)also looks extremely similar to yours, has laid dud egg.
I purchased 1 and 2 females and was told they were male and female, i never witnessed any 'nice' or courtship behaviour between them only aggression. So i split them up. I posted their photos on very websites to try to sex them and had a 50:50 result rate of male:female. When i purchased my known subadult female from a breeder i compared them and they look identical, so i determined that it is female.
Also i compared the 2nd female to my adult male p.madagascariensis madagascariensis and found that they looked extremely different. What is the age of the gecko? if it is fully adult (sexually mature) then you should be able to tell the difference really easily.
hope this helps and didnt confuse you further!
Julie
