ball python feeding

greencats Feb 17, 2004 09:38 PM

hello,
my name is shane and i live in central PA. i have a 10 year old female ball python named Jorgia. i am a little worried because she has missed a few feedings now. i understand that this can be normal, but does anyone have any advice as to what to check for, how to bring feeding back, and any other methods. she went 10 months without feeding before, but that was in 1996. she hasn't missed a feeding since, so i am unsure as to what may have caused it. any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Just keep trying - you may try less often (just so you don't waste a lot of feeders). Say if you normally feed weekly, try every other week, etc.

Very important, weigh her regularly. If you start to see considerable weight loss - then get her to a vet to check for parasites, etc. If she seems normal and not losing weight you're okay.
