shedding cycle?

indi Feb 17, 2004 09:42 PM

hello!
Hey, my beardie had started to shed about 3 weeks ago, maybe even 4 weeks ago. First went his tail, this las week his head started to shed, all the nose, and the scales from around his eyes have shed. But there is a patch, rather large patch that is still unshed. I have been giving him daily baths. Is there anything else I can do to help the shed? Also, do they shed the stuff on their backs, it doesnt seem like they are scales so I am a bit curious. Thanks!! I will try to get a pic to better discribe what I am talking about, he is also about 4months old, and at 12inches or so.

Well, here is the pic. Don't mind the forest he is sitting on, I know they are desert creatures, but hey... what can I do?? Thanks for any help of tips.

how old is he? Don't take my advice as gold but, it could be a new shed. I would say as long as temps are good and he has something to rub on (branch/rock) then I wouldn't be too worried. I don't know if a bath everyday is ok or too much though.

Bath a day is fine in a low humidty enviorment such as Arizona, not in Oregon

Ahhh, I am in WA state, so there is quite a bit of humidity here. I will stop with the daily baths.

He is about 4months old. He does have bark and a branch to rub against. Thanks!

A lot of times they shed in bits and pieces and by the time they are done with one shed, they have another starting. It almost seems like they are always in shed when they are healthy and growing rapidly.
