Can those two species be in the same cage? Sounds kinda cool. Also, can I make a land portion of a cage for the Land Turtles, and a Water portion for a RES if I wanted to? Does that sound okay? Thanks -Jon

I keep my russians and box turtles in completely seperate enclosures, both indoors and out.
Eastern box turtles live in humid, relatively cool forest conditions. Russians live in semi-arid to desert settings that experience high temperatures.
Box turtles are omnivores. Russians are herbivores.
They have incompatible housing and dietary requirements, so I do not try to house them together. Plus they may transmit diseases to each other.
Its not a good idea, for the reasons mentioned above.

I have a three-toed and a Russian together, and they seem to get along just fine. They were a little hesitant at first, but now they just ignore each other. They have a huge tank though, so there is plenty of room for both of them.
