I use only RO water, to keep water stains to a minimum. When the glass is dirty (from climbing frogs, dusted FF, etc.) I just whipe it off with a moist paper towel.
I spray a diluted solution of white vinegar and water (50/50)on the glass for cleaning my tank. It won't harm the animals in it and does a good job of cleaning off spots. Just avoid gettting the vinegar directly on the frogs. It is an acid after all! You can avoid future spots by using only distilled water in your tank. The spots are from minerals in the tap water or spring water if that's what you've been using.
