Yay!! It worked! Ra's pooping again! : )

Sunfox Feb 18, 2004 11:54 AM

I just finished giving Ra a nice hot soak (not too hot). After I finished draining the water and drying him off with the blowdryer, I saw him getting into position to try and poop. This time, it finally worked! I couldn't believe how much there was, or how big it was. Man, no wonder he was so grumpy He almost seemed relieved afterwards.

Thanks for all your help guys, Ra is back to his normal self and so is his owner (me)

By the way, I did manage to find a good reptile vet who knows all about uromastyx (she owns one herself). The vet is right down the street where I live, talk about convenience

Thanks again (Ra thanks you too)

How did he react to the blow dryer? I expect the sound would be enough to freak him out. :D

I put it on the "medium" setting so it doesn't make too much noise. He was a little startled the first time he heard it but it doesn't bother him now. (Personally, I think he really hates it when I vacuum the room, it disturbes his nap ) The blowdryer works great, it gets your uro dry in a very short amount of time and greatly minimizes the chance of tail rot occurring.
