I haqve 5 Blue legged mantella's. One is turning very dark in color on his back instead of the bright yellow of all of his brothers. Does any one have any idea on this?
They are in a 30 gallon viquarium, there is about 25% pond area with a large waterfall. The cage has a false bottom and sits over about 5 gallons of water. The water stays at about 75 degrees and the air temp ranges from 70 to 75. They are all eating well, pinhead crickets and fruit flys dipped in calcium daily and vitamins every third day. They all have plenty of hiding spots and they seem to be happy. The humidity stays at about 60% - 80% and there appears to be plenty of ventillation. We clean the cage and change the water weekly.
Also, does anyone have any info about inbreeding these types of frogs. I think that they are all from the same family as we bought them all at once from one breeder. Is it OK to breed these guys or should I buy some more from a different breeder?
