Ge Lighting

I have a problem and I cant figure it out. I have 3 tanks for my boas. 2 of them are 6'long x 2' tall and 2' deep. The 3rd is 4'x2'x'2. I have the basic flourescent lights in the bigger 2 and had the smaller slim flourescent in the smaller one. I already went through 2 basics(they burnt out or something) and now the slim light burnt out. I dont know what the problem is but at first I thought it was that my che's were too close to the light causing it to burn out so I moved it to the far end and it did it again. The first 2 lights lasted about 2 weeks each and this one lasted about a month. Anyone know why this would happen to this particular tank's light? Thanks.

When you say lights do you mean the bulbs or the lamps?

This happened to a friend of mine and it turned out that one side of the flourescent fixtures was going bad, not the bulbs. The fixture was replaced and it turned out all the old bulbs were fine (thankfully not thrown away yet).

At any rate, this is pretty common with the less expensive lamps available from home improvement stores. I'm not sure if this is your problem or not.

Yea it was the lamp itself. I bought 2 basics and they both stopped working and then I bought the more expensive slim one and it did the same thing. The bulbs are fine but I can't imagine that 3 different lamps would die like that. I have 2 basic ones in my 2 big cages that have been working for 4 months now. Thanks.
