burrowing?

the_asshat Feb 18, 2004 04:34 PM

About two weeks ago I cleaned out my snake's cage and put all new substrate in it and a few days later she dug it up and burrowed inside. About a week ago she finally ate after going about two weeks without eating and than burrowed under again. In the last five days my snake seems to have dissapeared somewhere in her substrate and doesn't feel like coming out. Does this happen often? Should I be worried? She is about 11 months old.

What's your set-up-glass tank, rubbermaid, custom? How many hides do you have? What are the temps and humidity? What's the substrate? The snake may be burrowing to get closer to the heat (increased heat) or just hiding. Some snakes may like to burrow if given a loose substrate. Need more info.
