Because of size, I'm considering getting some of these. Anyone have any pictures? Thanks in advance.

The actual locality is Red Lodge, Carbon County, MT. The founders were collected at the resort town of Red Lodge in south central MT.

Would you have more information as to the number of founders collected and when? I for one am not very familiar with the history of these guys.

Thanks, Rich Hebron

I don't know exact numbers collected thus far, but I do know that some are still collected. Red Lodge is about an hour drive South-West from Billings, where I live. Beautiful town at the base of the Beartooth Mountains. The bulls there are a lot smaller than the ones here in Billings. This is most likely due to Red Lodge having an elevation of around 4700'. It is noticably cooler and more moist there than in the deserty areas around here. E-mail me if you need any more habitat info.

What exactly is a Dwarf Bullsnake? (please don't just say "a small bullsnake" LOL)

A better descrition eludes me. Actually I'm just looking into these. As I understand it they get about three feet long???

I don't believe dwarf is a very good choice of words. I don't think this is a case of actual dwarfism. These snakes simple adapted to their environment and as a result only grow to a small size. Where dwarfism would be a genetic defect that caused an individual to be small. IMO
