These are 2 of my 4 newest baos. They appear to be peruvian or mexican...having a hard time telling the difference. Anyone got any guesses? I am, however, quite certain they are not jungles!

pic #2...
These are too dark to be red tailed peruvian. I have been trying to get a scale count but they are not very cooperative. I read mexican boas have more dorsal spots (22-30 I think) & longicauda (have 19-21) I am just not sure dorsal spots are the best way or most reliable way. Anyone have other more reliable methods for solving this? I know I should be looking for a "long tail" for longicauda, that is reliable mostly for males... but at this age it is tough to figure what % of their length is tail.
HELLO
THEY ARENT PERUVIANS THEY APPEAR TO BE SOME SORT OF CENTRAL AMERICAN POSSIBLY MEXICAN OR NICARAGUAN OH BYE THE WAY THEY ARE REALLY PRETTY GOOD LUCK WITH THEM
Thanks for the help and the compliment...I hope they look even better as adults!
Good looking snakes. DEFINITELY NOT b.c. longicauda (Peruvian longtail). These kids are Central American boas. I would agree with the Nicaraguan locality. Good luck with them.
