what to expect?

dan_binderup Feb 19, 2004 05:30 AM

Hi
I have some questions concering my first breeding attempt!
the last observed copulation was on 25/01
the female has since refused food. she is now in a shed. What should I make of all this?
the female is always in the her "hot"hide, she only comes out for a drink now and then.
The male has lost all interest in her, and is feeding again!
what should I expect from this?

Best Regards

Dan,
. Everything you describe sounds good to me. The fact that she is in a shed now is not very significant. I have had gravid females stay right on their regular shedding schedules while gravid and I have had other ones that only shed twice while they were gravid for 5.5 months. The fact that she does not eat is a good sign. Most of mine stop eating about the time they start acting and looking gravid. They often eat a small meal or two in march or april. Make sure she has access to different temperatures in the cage and has clean water available 24/7. Expect nothing but hope for babies in late june or early july.
