90 days in the incubator, manually removed from the egg...

abstractcypher Feb 19, 2004 03:43 PM

This little guy was the last of a infertile clutch. The only egg that looked somewhat fertile. Over three months had passed and the egg was totally sunken in, so I decided to open it up and have a look inside. I figured it was infertile as the rest.
To my surprise there was this little baby. Breathing.
I carefully removed him/her from the shell and placed the "little one" back into the incubator.
I periodically checked up on him/her to see if there was any movement, and the little bugger was on a different side of the incubator every time.
This was three days ago. I've since put him/her in a rearing tank. Lots of activity and alertness.
Here he/she is...

the hard part now is waiting for it to start eating. Keep a close eye on it so it doesn't get dehydrated and hopefully all will be ok. looks like you got there in the nick of time. Congrats and good luck.
