Lucky Beardies!!!

SherryLynnZ Jun 09, 2003 12:29 PM

Yesterday I discovered 2 baby beardies swimming around in my home made incubator! My boyfriend and I were so shocked because the clutch they came from was all bad (except these 2)! My boyfriend worked at a pet store about 2 1/2 months ago and someone brought in a clutch of beardie eggs. Right away, they looked pretty bad, but I incubated them anyways. Every week or so I would take out the bad eggs and leave the good ones. Well, there were only about 5 left and 2 had been totally empty. I didn't think anything of it, so I took all the eggs and threw them away (the rest were all bad). As I was cleaning cages yesterday, I saw a little baby swimming in the water in the incubator! I quickly ran over and scooped the little guy up, and discovered another! They are both ok. I felt so terrible! I can't believe they were in there for at least a day or more! Poor babies! Well, I took some pics and when they develop, I will post them for you all to see!

Congratulations!!
I guess it is very true what alot of posters suggest here, never give up on the eggs unless they are 100% obviously bad or infertile! Best of luck with the new little ones
