Hi Nevin. The term farm bred is a lie in terms of Uromastyx it's wild cought. Mali are very hardy, if its eating a little maybe and I say maybe the basking spot is not hot enough should be about 115% and the other areas should be 90% make sure the cage is good size so the animal can get out of the hot area. Don't handle the animal till it recovers and not to much after that, By the way, you talking about money sounds like your not willing to take it to the Vet. So if the animal does not make it. I would say buy a healthy Uro from Lindsay Pike or Doug Dix for it will do well for you versus buying a animal from some one who may lie to you and say the animals farm raised or captive born in europe or even says its doing great, Not to say theres not healthy animals out there but one needs to know how to pick them out and get them to adjust. I hope that helps you out. Just remember a healthy Uro for $80.00 is better than one for $40.00 that may die and then another $40.00 deal for?????

I don't mean to be harsh and I know you feel bad already, but let's work on the living animal you have in your home first before you even consider getting a new one. They are not disposable.

First, tell us about your set up. How big is your enclosure? What type of food do you feed and how often? What type of UVB light source do you have? What are your temperatures? Basking temps? Ambient temps? How big is your uro? How old is your uro? Has it been to the vet? If you do not have money to take your uro to the vet then you do not have enough money to buy a new one. You know what I mean?

I think you would feel better if you "saved" the one you have rather than waiting for it to die and replacing it only to have the new one suffer (and possibly die too) if you did not have your set up right.

Again, I am not trying to "get on you". I just would like to see you care for the uro you have and that is still living. There are MANY people here with lots of experience that can help you save her or him.

imported. i deal alot with snakes so farm is a ussual word for me. first of all, my cage is perfict. i had a local reptile breeder, including uros, look at my set up. it was perfict. he took the baby, it had an internal parisite. it had food in its belly, but didnt have any meat to its body(if that makes any sense to you). $80 was the price range i was talking about wen i said cheap. i didnt want any thing really over 100. ill prob get a pic or 2 of the new molli (my sis named chubby) posted tonite. thanx for your postes, and help.
