Go grab some repcal clacium with d3 asap. Or any other calcium and D3 supp for that matter. Depending on how bad it is you may want to take her to a vet.

my reptocal has d3 and this liquid i bought tonight has d3 in it to. it is bad enough her feet curles and i bought her tonight and i dont know if i can breed her now or not. i may just retire her and she live the rest of her days as a pet. the boy i bought her from has been fighting with it over a year. i have heard that some efects of lack of calcium is earaversible. is that true ? if so she may not still have a calcium problem.

D3 is all well and good but only if theres calcium in there to. I wouldn't advise using the liquid if your trying to treat MBD. Use the powder and maybe even a calcium injection from a vet. I wouldn't breed her either, she's going to have to be your pet.

A bad case of MBD cannot be reversed there will always be damage present, for example curled toes or bent legs. If your still worried she may have MBD right now try to gently move her lower jaw to one side if it feels rubbery or bends a little to easily she still has MBD and needs to see a vet right away. If the jaw is solid and doesn't flex you should be ok for now, but I'd still take her to a vet for a checkup.

thank you very much . i will check that right away . the boy i got her from said he had been treating her for abt a yr for this .

Dedalus Feb 19, 2004 09:58 PM

Your welcome.

More than likely if he has been treating her for that long she doesn't currently have MBD. BUT once again the after affects will last forever.

Do you know what kind of treatment she was receiving previously?

P.S. Good luck with her.

yes he was giving her boneaid liquid every 2 weeks and dustings ever other feeding. i just checked her jaw and its firm on both sides except at the hinge where its connected to her body (she still bites pretty strong lol) he did not know that the effects of MBD were not earaversible . thank you brian

Ok it sounds like shes recovered. Just keep a close eye on her, once again you may want to get her to a vet just to be sure.

Welcome again. Best of Luck.
