Was it a side-Blotched or Tree lizard?
They're about that size, and are pretty common in Riverside...
What kind of habitat did you find it in?
It's definetly not a side-blotched Iv'e caught a million of those and they don't look anything like it. I saw it in a slighty weeded area on the side of a hill in about 80 degrees.
