What would be some good nutritious dog food for my colony of 20 mice?

Uncloudy Feb 19, 2004 10:54 PM

I am tired and its expensive to buy mice/gerbil food at the pet store.
I was wondering what type/brand of dog food would be economical to feed my mice that I could get at Walmart?
Any repsonses would be greatly appreciated.
Happy Herping,
Uncloudy

I found mine at petsmart, you could look at petco...

It is in a greenish bag, has Great Choice writen on it... Very cheap, for adult dogs.

Hello, I use Ol'Roy dog food from Wal-Mart (red bag). I also give them shelled corn and striped sunflower seeds. They (my rats) love it and so do my dogs.
I hope this helps !

I use Purina Dog Chow though I doubt this is the cheapest you can get. My rats love it much more than my mice but my mice get more than just the dog food. I also give them nutri-bloc and wild birdseed mixed together.

When I used to breed rats I used Ol roy from Walmart. They sure ate alot of it. I also used some lab block a few times. I think dog food they eat more of vs lab block but dog food is cheap. They red bag had the right size food in it so it didn't go though 1/2 wire mesh.
